A service bypass panel, sometimes known as a maintenance bypass panel, is a device that allows a user to bypass an uninterrupted power supply completely. This allows the UPS to give utility power to the important load while isolating it from both the load and the utility power. The bypass function can be installed on both the mains and the plant. It is, however, most usually connected to the mains input. It is imperative to keep in mind that most bypass panels complement the more traditional ATS control panel.
